Isabella Garcia: Framing the future of Dominican cinema

From her earliest days at SCAD, Isabella Garcia (B.F.A. advertising and branding, 2023; B.F.A., film and television, 2023) knew she was destined to merge creativity with impactful storytelling. Today, she lives that vision while pioneering meaningful changes in the Dominican Republic’s rapidly growing film industry.

At the Dirección General de Cine (DGCINE), Garcia is an influential part of the International Affairs department, responsible for fostering partnerships between Dominican filmmakers and prestigious global markets and festivals — think Berlinale, Cannes Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, American Film Market, and Ventana Sur.
