Ruffling Reality: The Masquerade and the Modern Muse
Fashion Film
This Collection Draws Inspiration from 1960s West Palm Beach Regency and blends it with the bold spirit of the modern woman. The line reflects not only a style but a story.
The story of women who are no longer confined to the traditional roles of homemaker or housewife, but who instead seek more out of life: career, independence, fulfillment and equality.
In "Ruffling Reality: The Masquerade and the Modern Muse," I collaborated with photographer Isabella Bolaños to craft a fashion film showcasing Sydney Emerson’s collection.
Our goal was to leverage dynamic visuals to narrate a story of rebellion and empowerment, effectively capturing the bold spirit and deeper societal messages embedded within the designs.

Oversized ruffles in the collection symbolize the intricate layers of complexity and the profound emotional depth that women embody. The bold, overlapping patterns echo the contradictions women navigate, merging strength with vulnerability, and outward beauty with internal conflict.
Beneath the playful and visually striking exterior fabrics lie provocative linings, a metaphor for the polished façade women often feel compelled to present, masking the intense emotions within. Each detail and contrast in the designs represents the unspoken truths women carry: a bold, unapologetic essence veiled behind a projection of grace and beauty.
